Deadly fire at KwaZulu-Natal orphanage
The Station Commander of the local police station, who declined to reveal his name, said the bodies were burned beyond recognition and all he could see were bones.
“It was the worst case I’ve ever dealt with,” he said.
The station commander said police were unsure what caused the fire and were investigating the blaze.
Nine children, aged between two and nine years old, survived the blaze at their Hope in Christ Home at eNgogo, administered by the province’s Department of Social Development.
