Lotto draw moves to SABC
Cape Town - From April 1 the national lottery will move from e.tv to SABC2.
Dr Bongani Khumalo, CEO of the Gidani consortium that manages the national lottery, said more people would have access to the lotto results if they were shown on SABC and broadcast on all 13 SABC radio stations.
"We are grateful to e.tv for covering the lotto draws and games for the past few years, but their footprint is very limited compared to that of the national broadcaster," he said.
From April 1, the draw will be broadcast on SABC2 every Wednesday and Saturday at 21:30.
The winning numbers will be shown on all three SABC TV channels and broadcast on 13 radio stations in 10 official languages.
From April 4 the Lotto Game-show will be shown on SABC2 every Saturday at 21:00, while the Wina Manje game will be broadcast on SABC1 every Monday at 18:30.
